Google has confirmed of its media event on Oct 24, likely unveiling both the Android KitKat 4.4 and the LG Nexus 5, but release date of the smartphone is likely not happening in the immediate days ahead.

Fresh rumours picked up by UK-based tech blog site Phones Review indicate that Google will definitely go ahead with the announced media briefing and the products expected to debut will be on hand.

The line-up includes the candy bar KitKat, replacing the Jelly Bean 4.3, the Asus-made Nexus 10, a number of surprise Google offerings (likely the Nexus-based power switch and the supposed smartwatch Nexus Gem) and the Nexus 4 successor - the Nexus 5.

However, chances are the Nexus 5 will only be introduced and releasing it too soon is another thing. Its availability, at least for October, remains a big question mark, Phones Review said on its report. The same goes for KitKat

The likelihood is, the phone and KitKat is not coming until next month and the report said LG and Google are blame for the rumoured push back.

"It is thought that both LG and Google are not quite ready yet to launch the device this month," said the report.

It appears too that the main problem lies on the South Korean device manufacturer, which reportedly lobbied for the delay as it "wants to wait until it is ready to also launch its LG G Flex smartphone with its curved display."

The G Flex was recently announced by LG, its core attraction mainly based on the use of a bendable or flexible display screen. The handset's maker is allegedly planning for a global rollout with KitKat already powering the device.

It remains unclear if the supposed LG request will be granted by Google, which analysts said is itching to release its answers to Samsung's Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 and Apple's iPhone 5S.

There have been suggestions that hours after the Nexus 5 is officially unwrapped, the product will be immediately displayed on Google Play Store for online purchase, with the delivery to arrive as early as Nov 1 or after a week.

At around the same time, global retailers will begin selling the hotly-anticipated handset, prized for its powerful specs, super-user access and affordability.

Yet if the new talks of delay is proven true, this calendar could be adjusted by as much as two weeks, setting up the Nexus 5 and KitKat for a mid-November availability.

Regardless, once the handset is out, it is believed to flex the following: a 5-inch Full HD screen with 1080p resolution, a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU, 2GB or 3GB of RAM, an Adreno 330 GPU, 13MP rear cam, 16GB or 32GB of internal memory, LTE radio signal and a battery rating of 2700mAh.

KitKat, of course, will be on board on release date, which prior to this new rumour is pegged to happen between Oct 24 and Nov 1. Price starts at $350.
