Google Nexus 5 release date has been reportedly delayed as Google is still searching for a company to manufacture the next Nexus smartphone.

Reports claimed that Google will no longer be teaming up with LG Electronics in making the successor of the popular LG Nexus 4 smartphone. This echoed the statement of an executive of LG Electronics confirming that the company is not working on the successor of the popular LG Nexus 4 dubbed as Nexus 5.

"The Nexus 4 was a great success despite the production problems for us and Google. However we do not need such a marketing success again," said Vice President of LG Mobile in Europe, Won Kim.

Thus, this left consumers speculating on which company the former will partner with.

According to tech Web site Stabley Times, Google is eyeing key partners prior the Google Nexus 5 release date. Google may turn to Asus and repeat what has been done in the new Nexus 7 tablet where it garnered great reviews from critics and reviewers. Another option is to give the major project to Google's subsidiary and newly-owned Motorola Mobility. However, there were reports stating that Motorola is about to unveil a handset allegedly named as Moto X.

Rumours claimed that the Google Nexus 5 will include a 5-inch Full HD screen display; an eight-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz paired with 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM; 13MP rear camera; 3300mAh battery capacity and the latest Android OS.

The handset is rumoured to be available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB variants and will support 4G/LTE connectivity, which was missing in the Nexus 4.

Google Nexus 5 release date is expected to happen sometime around October and November in order to maximize full profits of LG Nexus 4. However, Google has not confirmed the date of announcement yet.
