Google Nexus 5 Release Date Rumors Bounce Back to November; Device Not Coming to Verizon?
Google Nexus 5 release date has been reportedly delayed as Google is still searching for a company to manufacture the next Nexus smartphone.
Reports claimed that Google will no longer be teaming up with LG Electronics in making the successor of the popular LG Nexus 4 smartphone.
However, there are contradicting reports claiming that Google and LG is currently concocting the Nexus 5 smartphone.
Other reports claimed that Google may turn to either Motorola or Asus for the Nexus 5. The aforementioned companies are the top contenders in making the next Google smartphone. However, Google has not released an official statement about this.
Meanwhile, Google Nexus 5 may not land in US carrier Verizon due to the alleged rift between Google and the company.
An insider revealed that Google and Verizon had an agreement last year that Verizon was not to 'touch' the software that came in the Galaxy Nexus. However, after the deal was done and the units were distributed, Verizon ordered its engineers to insert the Big Red's touches on the Nexus. It seemed that Google was not happy with Verizon's move.
Rumours claimed that the Google Nexus 5 will include a 5-inch Full HD screen display; an eight-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz paired with 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM; 13MP rear camera; 3300mAh battery capacity and the latest Android OS.
The handset is rumoured to be available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB variants and will support 4G/LTE connectivity, which was missing in the Nexus 4.
Google Nexus 5 release date is expected to happen sometime around October or November in order to maximize full profits of LG Nexus 4. However, Google has not confirmed the date of announcement yet.
