Google Nexus 5 release date may take place on Oct 28, latest rumours asserted.

Previous reports claimed that the Google Nexus 5 will arrive on Oct 15, but Google held no such event. Thus, the release date rumour jumped back to later this month.

The Oct 28 Google Nexus 5 release date, if pushed through, will happen alongside the Android 4.4 KitKat. Various clues provided hints that the device will be released on the said date.

First, Google released the Nexus 4 alongside the 4.2 version of the Jelly Bean OS on Oct 29 last year. Thus, many people are expecting that the search engine giant will release the device around the same time.

Meanwhile, KitKat tweeted some clues on the release of the Google's upcoming operating system. The first tweet was "Everybody dance now!" This is the title of a song by C+C Music Factory, a group known as 28th Street Crew until 1989. The tweet was quite vague and cryptic.

However, the chocolate brand's most recent tweet is "This is it" made out of KitKat bars. "This is it" refers to the popular Michael Jackson movie that premiered on Oct 28, 2009. Thus, it becomes quite clear that Android 4.4 KitKat release date will be on Oct 28.

According to the rumours, we may expect two Nexus smartphones later this month. According to a source cited by Android Geeks, Google Nexus 55 price may be $399 for the 16 GB model. The 32 GB version may cost $449. Thus, the device may cost $100 higher than its predecessor, Nexus 4, without a contract with carriers.

The increase in price is due to new and improved features of the Google Nexus 5 such as 5-inch screen display and faster processor.

Another reason for the higher price is that the LG Nexus 4 will still be around, but Google will be adding LTE capabilities to the updated LG Nexus 4.

The Nexus 4 with LTE support may carry the same price as the previous smartphone, $299 for 16 GB and $349 for the 32 GB version.

The current LG Nexus 4 was discounted last August to probably exhaust the inventory of the device for the release of the new smartphone.

Meanwhile, some of the rumoured specs and features of the upcoming Google Nexus 5 include a 4.95-inch full-HD (1,080 p) IPS LCD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at 2.3 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera with OIS and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera.
