Google Nexus 5 Release Date Soon as Photo of Unannounced LG Smartphone Spotted Online
A mysterious new LG smartphone photo was spreading all over the internet. Is this the Google Nexus 5?
The alleged photo of the Nexus 5 first surfaced in May. Now, the device is making a buzz again in the smartphone market as Google's event on July 24 drawed near. The new Nexus 5 is speculated to be introduced in the said event.
The photo originated from Twitter user @evleaks, who has a reputation of divulging photos of unannounced smartphones. However, since the device has an LG logo, others think that the leaked photo was that of the LG Optimus G2.
The authenticity of the leaked image was difficult to check. However, based from the photo, one can be sure that a future LG smartphone will ditch the conventional home button.
The Google Nexus 5 will sport a 5-inch or 5.2-inch full-HD screen display with 1920x1080 resolution and a pixel density of 440ppi, according to the rumours. The device was also speculated to be equipped with NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor with 2GB of RAM, 8/16GB of internal storage, a 13-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with LED flash and a 3-megapixel front-facing camera. The device was reported to come with 4G/LTE connectivity which was lacking on its predecessor.
Other reports claimed that the Nexus 5 will include Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor that possesses a clock rate of 2.3GHz, paired with 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM. Storage options were provided in the form of 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of internal memory. A 3300mAh Li-polymer battery, under the hood, added to the list of these highly questionable details .
However, Google and LG were still tight-lipped whether the handset was currently on the works as well as when it will be released.
