Google Nexus 6 Battery Life Test Reveals Stellar Performance Through Its 3220 mAh Battery But Lags Behind Note 4 With Same Sized Battery
The Google Nexus 6 is a Motorola smartphone blessed with a huge 3,220 mAh battery. It is the first ever Nexus smartphone to slot itself a phablet device, thanks to the large 5.96-inch AMOLED display that supports quad HD resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. Since it belongs to the Nexus family, it features the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop build. The handset is powered by Snapdragon 805 chipset, which clocks at 2.7 GHz.
Like the Nexus 6, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 also houses a 3220 mAh battery. GSMArena had carried out the Motorola Nexus 7 battery life test and has confirmed that the device is capable of supporting heavy use and still last an entire day. Here are the results of the battery life tests on Google Nexus 6:
Talk Time Test
The Google Nexus 6 talk time test revealed that the device can offer a remarkable talk time of 25:03 hours. Its major rival, the Galaxy Note 4, offers a talk time of 28:34 hours. The Motorola Droid Tubro, which is packed with an enormous battery of 3900 mAh capacity, delivers a stellar talk time of 30:09 hours. The iPhone 6 Plus recorded a score of 23:49 hours.
Web Browsing Test
The Motorola Nexus 6 web browsing test showed that handset can be used continuously for 7:54 hours on a single charge. The Galaxy Note 4 is better performer as it can output three hours more of web browsing with the same sized battery. It supports 10:04 hours of continuous web browsing. The Motorola Droid Turbo lasted for 11:31 hours on the same test.
Video Playback Test
The Nexus 6 features an AMOLED display screen, whereas the Galaxy Note 4 comes with a Super AMOLED panel. The former lasted for 10:01 hours on video playback test and the latter lasted longer for 17:25 hours. The Droid Turbo also lasted longer on this test with a score of 13:41 hours.
The Motorola Nexus 6 settles with an endurance rating of 70 hours, states GSMArena. It lags behind the endurance score of 87 hours of Galaxy Note 4. The other Motorola smartphone, the Droid Turbo scored a higher endurance rating of 90 hours.
