Google will be up for some major releases this year as well. According to recent information, the tech giant has been preparing for the release of the Google Nexus 6 and the Android 4.4.3. The Android 4.4.3 will be addressing previous problems associated with the first set of Android 4.4 KitKat updates. The Google Nexus 6, on the other hand, will follow the Google Nexus 5. Similar to the Nexus 5, analysts expect the next flagship phone to feature the new Android operating system.

Despite two sub updates under Android 4.4 KitKat platform, Android users still complain of problems with the latest operating system. The number of complaints may have prompted Google to come up with the Android 4.4.3 update. According to a report by Android Police, people may expect the following fixes under the upcoming update:

  • Frequent data connection dropout fix
  • mm-qcamera-daemon crash and optimization fixes
  • Camera focus in regular and HDR modes fixes
  • Power Manager display wakelock fix
  • Multiple Bluetooth fixes
  • Fix for a random reboot
  • App shortcuts sometimes got removed from launcher after update
  • USB debugging security fix
  • App shortcuts security fix
  • Wi-Fi auto-connect fix
  • Other camera fixes
  • MMS, Email/Exchange, Calendar, People/Dialer/Contacts, DSP, IPv6, VPN fixes
  • Stuck in activation screen fix
  • Missed call LED fix
  • Subtitle fixes
  • Data usage graph fix
  • Internet telephony fix
  • FCC compliance fix
  • Miscellaneous fixes

The Android 4.4.3 update will focus instead on addressing operating system problems instead of adding new features. Google has not announced when it plans on releasing the new update.

Google Nexus 6

While there are previous reports noting Google's plans on cutting the Nexus program, it appears the tech giant wants to continue the problem. The company is reportedly preparing the Nexus 6. According to a report by Phones Review, the Nexus 6 will be produced by HTC. The company has proven it can produce good quality phones through its HTC One and HTC M8 series. The smartphone will reportedly have the following features: 5.5-inch display, Full HD resolution and Qualcomm Snapdragon 805. Unless another processor comes up, Google will likely stick with Qualcomm's 805.
