Google Nexus 7 (2016) release date: Tablet may launch this fall with Android N
The much awaited Google Nexus 7 (2016) release date seems to have been postponed to the latter half of 2016. The search giant was expected to unveil the new generation of tablet at its recently held Google I/O Conference in California.
Google has been believed to launch the Nexus 7 (2016) to showcase its upcoming Android operating system. Now, prevailing speculations hint at a possible release date in fall 2016.
Earlier this month, Google discontinued the HTC Nexus 9 (2014) tablet, which indicated the imminent release of Nexus 7 (2016). The tech giant has not refreshed its Nexus 7 tablet lineup since 2013. However, Google is yet to announce the official Nexus 7 (2016) release date.

The Android N Developer Preview 3 is now available for Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X and Nexus 6. Google is expected to release two more builds in June and July.
Last week, at the Google I/O 2016, Dave Bucker, vice-president of engineering at Google, revealed that Android N would be available to users by late summer.
Google is also speculated to launch its upcoming Nexus branded smartphones with Android N pre-installed. Rumours indicate that Google has roped in HTC to make two Nexus 2016 smartphones for this year.
Meanwhile, during the I/O 2016 last week, Google introduced its new mobile virtual reality platform, Daydream. All the future devices released by Google will come with support for this platform.
