Rumours emerged that Google and LG Electronics may work together in making a tablet dubbed as Google Nexus 8.

Rumours were sparked when a photo of the alleged tablet was spotted in the refreshed Android's "Apps & Entertainment" page. In the photo, a lady is seen holding a tablet that appears to be neither the Nexus 7 nor Nexus 10. However, the device is definitely running with Android 4.4 KitKat OS based on the interface seen on the device. Google offered no comment on the speculations of various tech websites.

What makes this more suspicious is that the image has been subtly altered by Google after tech web sites noticed the device. According to the reports, the image has been modified to feature the same woman now holding a Nexus 7.

The rumour is also strengthened by recent reports that a new LG device has just gone through Bluetooth certification. LG received a go signal for the device named LG-V510, which could be the Nexus 8. Many people are wondering if Google will release an 8-inch tablet despite releasing its 7-inch slab, Nexus 7, last July.

If Google and LG are releasing a Nexus 8, the specs and features will most certainly be based on the new LG G Pad. If true, the Nexus 8 will feature an 8.3-inch 1920 × 1200 display, a 1.7 GHz Snapdragon 600 CPU, 2 GB of RAM, 5 MP rear camera, 1.3 MP front camera, 4600 mAh battery and Android 4.4.

This is not the first time that Google teased fans by hiding devices in plain sight. Prior the Google Nexus 5 release date, the smartphone was spotted on various occasions as the company leaked the device several times. Two of the most notable occasions are when the smartphone was seen on Google Play Store as well as in the video of Android 4.4 KitKat.

Reports stated that Google Nexus 8 may replace the next generation of Nexus 10 tablet that is still missing in action. However, other reports claimed that Google Nexus 10 2 is bound for release on Nov. 29 just in time for Black Friday sale and holiday season.
