Release date of the Google Nexus 8 is coming soon as a newly-leaked information 'confirmed' its existence plus that of two more Android L-powered tablets that will roll out from HTC's assembly lines in Taiwan.

Well-known gadget news leaker @evleaks tweeted on July 21 that "HTC is developing," three tablets that hopefully will be unboxed in the next few months. Also known as Evan Blass, the informant dangled two devices that are codenamed T7 and T12.

According to Gotta Be Mobile, which picked up the same tweet, T7 is likely a 7-inch tablet while the T12 is its 12-inch counterpart. It is expected that both devices will run on the latest Android build on launch date though Blass is keeping his silence on the matter.

But really the most notable part of the latest tease from @evleaks is the soon-to-arrive kit that he dubbed as Volantis or Flounder, which in earlier reports are terms attached to an 8.9-inch Android slate called Nexus 8.

Blass, however, called the device as the Nexus 9, likely due to its near 9-inch screen profile.

This is not the first time that @evleaks touched on the Nexus 8/9, which in the past months have been branded as Google's singular replacement for the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10. The rationale for its arrival is it will try to dislodge Apple's two tablets - the iPad Air and iPad Mini - from the top.

In order to do so, the Nexus 8 specs and features will be the top-tier - bannered by a 2048 x 1440 screen resolution and a 64-bit NVIDIA Tegra K1 processing chip that is tapped into a 2GB of RAM.

Another killer attraction is the device's purported camera combo of 8MP on rear that is equipped with optical image stabilisation and 3MP on front for HD video chat and capturing selfies.

But what could prove as the Nexus 8's biggest selling point is its build that highlights aesthetics and durability. Android watchers are convinced that the reason Google picked HTC over other makers for the project is due to the latter's impressive HTC One M7 and M8 opus.

As such, the Nexus 8 or 9 is believed to deliver the same elegance that was seen from the HTC One, which is accentuated by its aluminum zero-gap construction.

Numerous reports have suggested that mass production for the Nexus 8 will commence on August, which positions the device to an October or November 2014 release date, likely bearing a solid price tag of no more than $400.
