Google Nexus 8/9 Release Date Nears as Fresh Tablet Concept Predicts Likely 8 Feature Upgrades
Reports are rife that Google is announcing the Nexus 8 or HTC Nexus 9 on October 16 and the likelihood is on the same day, Android L will be unveiled.
Whiles the specs and features packed with the device are the subject of rumours and numerous, nothing is ever confirmed by Google or by the tablet's supposed manufacturer - HTC. Thankfully, a new gadget concept offers the look and capabilities that the Nexus 8 or 9 will show off right out of the box.
The eight specs and features below are envisioned in a recent post by Nexus6Now.com:
Solid mix of metal and polycarbonate casing
Since HTC will reportedly build the Nexus 8 or 9, which The Wall Street Journal recently wrote about, the latest concept imagined a general build that for the most part takes after the Taiwan device maker's HTC One M7 and M8 creations.
It will be a solidly-built slate that relies on metallic framing with beautiful trimmings of polycarbonate material, which is in line with Google's intention of rivalling Apple's iPad with an aesthetically crafted native Android tablet.
Super LCD display in Quad HD resolution
The render in subject appears aligned with the concept that the Nexus 8 is the sequel to last year's Nexus 7, which explains the 8-inch screen profile. True this deviates from the prevailing belief that the tablet has a near 9-inch display or 8.9-inch to be exact, the panel technology agrees with most of the leaked specs so far.
So the Nexus 8 or 9 will have a Super LCD panel that beams out clips and images in Quad HD screen resolution of 2560 x 1440 with a 16:9 aspect ratio.
8MP rear cam, 3MP on front
The Nexus 8 is a shooter's delight with its 8MP main cam and the selfie-friendly front-facing capturer.
Ultra pixel technology
The same package is laced with HTC's ultra-pixel camera tech that ensures superior quality pictures and videos are produced per click.
Boom Sound front speakers
As expected, one of HTC's signature mobile device features will figure prominently with the way the Nexus 8 or 9 will please Android tablet users - the front-firing Boom Sound stereo speakers. This audio enhancement will ensure the reproduction of high-quality sound for users who'd want to skip the use of companion speaker with the device.
Android L
One of the banner Nexus 9 features is it will be the first device to display the improvements cooked up by Google with the upcoming Android L. Per Concept Phones, the device is built around the notion of simple but powerful mobile device experience.
Solid price tag
Stuffed inside the Nexus 8 or 9 is high-end components with the killer features hardcoded with Android 5.0. But the best part about the whole package is the promise of accessibility that hints of starting price no more than $400.
Shortly after the HTC Nexus 9 and Android L, release date of both products is expected to happen on or before Halloween 2014, likely alongside the Moto X-patterned Nexus 6 or X.
