Google falls in line after Apple poised to release a series of devices and updates. The company will reportedly launch a number of Nexus products including, Nexus 5 (2014) might also be the Nexus 6, Nexus 8 and the Android 5.0 L Platform also potentially named Android Lion. According to latest information, people can expect a range of killer features including a truer Android experience unifying the ecosystem through hardware and software. Can Google pull off an Apple-like approach and offer a better series of Android alternatives?

There are two potential manufacturers of Google's Nexus 6: Motorola and HTC. According to Android Origin, while Motorola has appeared to the shoo-in winner, Google or Motorola has not clarified the matter. This opens the debate if the internet giant has turned to another company, possibly HTC. If the Nexus 6 will be from Motorola then the 2nd generation Moto X should offer a good insight on what the device will be like. According to Expert Reviews, manufacturers contracted out by Google for their Nexus program usually base the upcoming Nexus on their present flagship. If Motorola is the chosen company then people can expect the Nexus 6 to be similar to the current Moto X.

The Moto X comes with a 5.2-inch screen with Full HD resolution. Reports note that in place of the Full HD screen, the Nexus 6 may in turn get a QHD display offering 2,560x1,440 pixels. The processor may also be upgraded from Snapdragon 801 to a Snapdragon 808. Android Origin notes that HTC is a close contender for the Nexus 6 because of its HTC one series.

In an earlier leak from @emtleaks, a screenshot of the GFXBench results reveal that the Nexus 6 may go by Nexus 5 (2014) instead. There were also reports about the Nexus X though Google has not clarified anything. According to the benchmark sighting, the Nexus 5 (2014) runs on Android Lion. This may support claims that Google has partnered with Nestle and the platform being named about its Lion Bar snacks. Other reported features of the device include 2.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, 32GB internal memory, 3GB RAM and 12MP primary camera. The size of the screen and type of processor has been disputed as some claim Nexus 6 will come with a 5.9-inch display including a higher Snapdragon processor.

The Nexus 8, on the other hand, may see a fall release along with Android 5.0 L launch. According to Christian Today, specs of the Nexus 8 include NVIDIA, Tegra 64-bit processor, 4G MDM9x25 chip, 4GB RAM and 1.6MP front camera. TK Tech News claims that considering the higher specs, the Nexus 8 may start selling aat $399. In a @UpLeaks tweet, a TI device was shared referring to to the Nexus tablet. The tweet was posted last August 30 saying: "HTC T1 accessories; Magic Cover Leather (Natural/Black), Magic Cover TPU (Coral Amethyst/Mint Indigo/Lime Stone/Indigo Black), Keyboard Folio."

The Android L will be Google's attempt at becoming a more unified platform similar to Apple's iOS 8. Platform unity will start with design. People can expect the Android L to have a flatter look with emphasis on depth, elevation and touch of space. Apart from Material Design and new UI, Google also wants to increase the usability of its OS. People can expect more interactive icons including Personal Unlocking. This allows users to have more in control on how to access their device Protocols include password, pattern or PIN unlock.

Google has not provided official dates for the release of the mentioned hardware and software.
