Despite swirling talks of alleged Nexus replacement Android Silver, the Nexus 6 release date this 2014 will push through as planned and the likelihood is two different models will hit the market similar to Apple's iPhone 6 push.

Recent reports have indicated that the main Nexus 6 edition will debut in the third quarter of 2014 and the strongest candidate to build this highly-anticipated vanilla Android device is South Korea's LG.

According to long-time Nexus watchers, the choice makes perfect sense as LG has made remarkable success putting together the Nexus 4 and 5 in the past two years. And as its predecessors were manufactured around LG's former flagships, the assumption is - the Nexus 5 will have the LG G3 as its base-model.

The same G3, basing on a new report by Android Central, will be unveiled on May 27 and it should follow that in the immediate weeks ahead, the device will become commercially available.

Now, Google has previously advertised that its I/O Developers Conference will be on June 24 and 25 and Android fans are quick to assume that on the same event Android 4.5 or 5.0 will be served for the first time and shortly thereafter - the device to showcase the software's fresh capabilities.

The consensus is it will be a Nexus device, either the 8.9-inch Nexus 8 or the 5.2-inch Nexus 6. If the latter would materialise, it has at least a supporting event - the LG G3 launch that kicks off in the last week of May.

But the sweet Nexus menu, touted as the last cycle, doesn't end there. Per BGR, a separate model would also be on-hand and the whole package is nothing short of irresistible. Why who will not be tempted by device that boasts of mid-range specs that according to reports Google will sell for only $100 or even less?

And if recent indications are to go by, the same affordable Nexus smartphone is not anywhere near the junk category that Apple CEO Tim Cook is so averse of. It will be powered by a very able MediaTek processing chip that likely will be in the same 64-bit mobile computing class that Apple had introduced with the iPhone 5S.

While this may sound wholly exciting, unpacking a 64-bit-powered Nexus phone will have to wait until December 2014 at the earliest. Recall that last week, chip technology author ARM has intimated that Android devices will surely go the Apple way.

But such spectre will only happen in the final stretch of 2014 - meaning the unwrapping will synch with the Christmas season this year.

That being said, the Android world is at least assured of two separate Nexus 6 release dates this 2014, headlined by the premium-specced LG G3-based model, prior to the supposed entry of more upscale native Android smartphones and tablets as hinted by Google's Android Silver project.
