Google Takes Over Timeful iOS App; Plans To Improve Gmail And Calender With This Acquisition
Google acquired the iOS based time management app, Timeful, on May 4. The app, launched last year, was represented as the "the first intelligent time manager" for mobile devices. The financial details involved in the acquisition have not yet been revealed, as per reports.
Timeful, a calendar app, suggests free time slots to users which they can use to complete their pending tasks by analyzing the user’s schedule, reports NDTV Gadgets. The app analyzes user’s habits, schedule and requirements and prioritizes the tasks that can be completed on time, revealed the said report.
According to 9 to 5 Mac, Timeful app can still be downloaded from the App Store and the publication quoted the company as saying that “the team’s attention will be on new projects at Google.” The company will start implementing Timeful features into Google apps, reported 9 to 5 Mac.
The search engine giant has plans to include the clever time management tools of Timeful in its existing range of products to make it convenient for users to plan their events and prioritize all tasks that need to be completed within a day, reports Mac Rumors.
“The Timeful team has built an impressive system that helps you organize your life by understanding your schedule, habits and needs. You can tell Timeful you want to exercise three times a week or that you need to call the bank by next Tuesday, and their system will make sure you get it done based on an understanding of both your schedule and your priorities. We’re excited about all the ways Timeful’s technology can be applied across products like Inbox, Calendar and beyond, so we can do more of the work for you and let you focus on being creative, having fun and spending time with the people you care about,” says Google in its official Gmail Blog.
According to Digital Trends, Google aims to roll Timeful’s functionality into its own apps. The Timeful app continues to be available in the App Store but will not see further updates.
