All signs point to a late July release date for the next Android edition, the Jelly Bean 4.3, bringing new exciting features to millions of handset users on the Google mobile platform.

Hints were recently published by SamMobile and @LlabTooFeR, two prolific sources of new information about Samsung and HTC gadgets, which are powered by the operating system. The duo insists that Android 4.2.2 is getting is upgrade dose this month and while it is not Key Lime Pie, the jump is significant enough.

At best, Android device users will be bumped up to the next level, giving them a more optimised mobile system that promises better communications, gaming and entertainment functions all locked in a portable machine.

And four of these features are listed below:

Emphasis on longer battery life

Device components - CPU, GPU and display panel - are designed each year not only to bring in power features but also to provide more battery hours. The goal for manufacturers is to achieve muscle without consuming too much of energy juice.

To realise this, Google is optimising Android on every step up and this will be evident via the new connectivity feature called Bluetooth LE or light energy. As the name implies, pairing with Bluetooth-enabled devices is no longer a power-hog for Jelly Bean 4.3.

Faster and more accurate network connection

Apart from fully supporting LTE, 4G and even the upcoming LTE-Advanced, Android is reportedly packing Always Scanning Wi-Fi capability with the mobile OS upgrade. Users chewing the 4.3 update patch will find their handsets eternally looking for that wireless connection, which foremost is to "improve location accuracy," per the report by Android Police.

For those concerned about running down their gadget time too quickly, it is understood that this function can be turned off to save precious battery power.

Fresher look and more options to personalise Android interface

Basically existing with open-source codes, Google is providing more leeway for third-party developers to upload apps that will allow users to customise both the look and inside functions of Jelly Bean 4.3. One area to be opened up for tinkering is the Notification Bar, which according to Gotta Be Mobile is a move to pave the way for future hardwares like the Google Watch and Google Glass.

Also, Android will likely implement improvements in the font department, not exactly padding up the menu but more on enhancing the rendition.

A shooter's delight

Stunning camera features were seen earlier this year when HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 were issued. Not to be left behind, Google would naturally bump up what's already in the native Android camera app.

Among the tweaks identified by Android Police are the relocated cam settings key and the shutter controller, which in Jelly Bean 4.3 is accessed through a handset's volume rocker.
