Google’s LG Nexus 5 features Android Pay
Google is ready with its major offerings in 2015. Two of these are the most anticipated new generation of Nexus 5 manufactured by LG and the mobile payment system Android Pay. The other variant of the Nexus 5 (2015) is reportedly made by Chinese manufacturer Huawei.
LG Electronics will be collaborating with Google to introduce Android Pay. Following Apple and Samsung, Google first mentioned Android Pay at the I/O developers conference in May. It is supposed to replace Google Wallet. According to Android Guys, Google will launch Android Pay along with LG Nexus 5 in October.
A report in Business Korea says that the Nexus device will be loaded with Android Pay. Due to its 60 per cent domination in the mobile OS market, Google seems to be very confident with Android Pay. The mobile payment system will receive tough competition from both Apple Pay and Samsung Pay. The latter seems to be more competitive compared with the other payment systems. Samsung Pay is compatible with both Near Field Communication (NFC) and Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) whereas Android Pay is only compatible with NFC, just like Apple Pay.
The key specifications of the upcoming LG Nexus 5 device are listed by GottaBeMobile. According to the report, the device will sport a 5.2-inch 1920 x 1080p P-OLED HD display. The handset will be powered by an 8-core Snapdragon 620 Processor with 3-4GB of RAM. LG Nexus 5 will be packed with 32GB and 64GB of internal storage. The phone will feature a 13 MP rear camera with OIS and Laser Autofocus and a 4 MP front camera. It will be shipped with 3180 mAh battery that offer wireless charging. The device will run on the latest Android M.
Furthermore, the device will feature a rear power button with a built-in fingerprint scanner and dual front-facing speakers. Fingerprints are more secure for mobile payment systems and it should work perfectly with Android Pay. Android M fingerprint support is built right into Android. Moreover, the USB Type-C Connector with Quick Charging Technology will make charging and data transfer quicker and easier. Android M will also ensure better customisation facilities especially with ‘Quick Settings.’
