‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 11, Episode 15 Recap: Meredith’s Marriage And Owen’s New Romance (Spoilers)

“Grey’s Anatomy” Season 11 looks closer into Meredith’s marriage in this week’s new episode titled, “I Feel the Earth Move” aka Greys 11x15. Meanwhile, Owen Hunt begins a new romance with someone in Meredith’s family.

In this week’s new episode, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) learns from Jo (Camilla Luddington) that she has been on a winning streak with her patients – all 89 of them – since the day her husband Derek (Patrick Dempsey) left Seattle for Washington, D.C.

Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) points out to Meredith that she should have taken the trip to D.C. instead of keeping herself busy at Grey Sloan Memorial. At one point, he points out that Meredith is in a happy marriage without a husband.

Meredith is elated over her lucky streak. But instead of convincing herself that she’s better off without Derek, she says the winning streak is theirs, as husband-and-wife; it’s not hers alone. Meredith makes a deliberate choice to include Derek in her success. So she calls him. And then a woman’s voice answers the phone.

Meanwhile, Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) successfully helps an 11-year-old girl save her mother’s life by giving her instructions over the phone. With Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) and Webber (James Pickens, Jr) on his side, Owen takes some risky measures guiding a child into doing CPR to the beat of “Stayin’ Alive” by the Bee Gees.

In a moment of shared victory, Owen and Amelia embrace. In that moment, they realise that neither one wants to let go so soon. This is the continuation of their kiss in an earlier “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 11 episode. They then take the romance from the hallway to an on-call room.

Episode 16 of “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 11 is expected to provide an answer to these questions: Who picked up Derek’s phone when Meredith called? Will Owen and Amelia officially declare themselves a couple?

Greys 11x15 first aired on ABC on Thursday, Mar. 12. The next episode, titled “Don’t Dream It’s Over,” airs on Mar. 19.
