Despite several glitches that players have experienced while playing the video game Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA 5), including server crashes, it will still be available online for multiplayer cloud gaming.

According to CloudPro, when the online multiplayer functionality of Grand Theft Auto 5 was launched, there was an enormous demand for its use on the cloud servers. In fact, it was so huge that the GTA 5 developers were not able to plan well for the glitches that are currently being experienced by fans of the game due to online user overload.

Some of the problems that GTA 5 online players are complaining about are the error messages they get while playing the game including the "Failed to Host a GTA Online Session," error and the "Rockstar Cloud Servers Unavailable," error. Others have also complained of the game freezing while the first race is loading. This happens right before the online multiplayer experience starts.

And it's not just the servers they are complaining about. Apparently some users were not able to complete certain missions in the game using the in-game smartphone. They get a message that says their Rockstar Social Club photo album cannot be loaded.

To be fair, GTA 5 game publisher Rockstar did warn players about possible bugs in the game. The warning was issued way before the launch of the GTA 5 online version.

However, Rockstar still wasn't able to anticipate the added pressure on their online game servers due to the high volume of sales.

Despite the fact that Rockstar has said that they plan "to buy and add more servers," it still doesn't hide the fact that they failed to plan ahead for this and are now suffering from their lack of foresight.

"This is not proof that cloud gaming will fail, it's just proof that companies need to understand the cloud side of things better and be realistic in allowing for the dynamic nature of likely demand." said Jane McCallion of CloudPro

"The principle of server-based online gaming remains the same; the technology delivering it has just changed a bit, that's all."

McCallion also believes that despite the glitches in GTA 5, cloud gaming can still be a big thing. In fact, it is still being pursued by other companies, including Microsoft, which is currently building its very own dedicated cloud gaming service. This service can stream Halo 4 to an Xbox, a Nokia Lumia Windows Phone and a Windows PC. How cool is that, right? Guess this is just the beginning of a bright future for cloud gaming.
