GTA 5 and The Sopranos Merge in YouTube Viral Video [WATCH VIDEOS]

The worlds of the popular video game "Grand Theft Auto V" (GTA 5) and the well-loved TV series "The Sopranos" have merged in a YouTube viral video which was published on July 9, 2014 by 8-Bit Bastard in the video sharing site. It serves as a tribute to Tony Soprano, the main character of "The Sopranos" played by the late James Gandolfini, who died on June 19, 2013. But, instead of the setting being in Essex County, New Jersey, in the reimagined GTA 5 game, Tony is in Los Santos, which is inspired by Los Angeles, California.

In the GTA 5 and "The Sopranos"-inspired viral video, the song "Woke Up This Morning" by Alabama 3 can be heard in the background. It was the theme song of HBO's "The Sopranos."

As of this writing, the GTA 5 and "The Sopranos" viral video has already been viewed on YouTube for 48,745 times. 856 viewers gave it the thumbs up, while 14 viewers disliked it and gave it the thumbs down.

"For this GTA 5 reenactment we decided to pay homage to one of the greatest TV shows of all time, The Sopranos. Recreating The Sopranos intro in GTAV was pretty time-consuming, but a lot of fun. Gone but not forgotten," read the statement posted below the YouTube viral video of GTA 5 and "The Sopranos" from 8-Bit Bastard.

According to 8-Bit Bastard, their channel recreates famous scenes from films and TV shows and incorporates these scenes in the GTA 5 game with the use of a snapmatic camera.

The viral video from 8-Bit Bastard is just one of the gaming channel's many GTA 5 Movie Recreations, which combines famous films and the GTA world. The gaming channel also has original videos of machinima, stunts, the Weazel News episodes and the series "How Big Is It?"
