'GTA V' First-Person Mode Introduced
Rockstar games has recently unveiled a new First Person Mode exclusive to the Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC versions of "Grand Theft Auto V(GTAV)." Available in both campaign and online modes, Rockstar has introduced several changes including thousands of new animations into the existing game featuring new targeting systems and a more traditional FPS control scheme.
The First person mode is an entirely New Perspective to view Los Santos- the grand map in which events and sequences of "GTA V" revolves around. Always at the cutting edge of innovation toward bringing the experience of realism to the forefront of gaming, this new addition to "GTA V", which would work as smoothly as a touch of a button, generates a transformation in the experience of what has always been, a third person game.
The first thing which strikes the viewer would be the renewed attention to detail, and Rockstar delivers substantially, having re-modelled and added multiple layers of texture, and increased attention to detail, in a scale not witnessed yet. Speaking to IGN recently, Rockstar Games art director Aaron Garbut reinforces their extraordinary attention to detail- a feat comparable to making the entire game from scratch. "On the art side we've taken another look at every asset in the game," he said. With what can truly be considered a personalized experience and immersion into the minute details into the working of the game Garbut said, " "We took each individual piece and looked at how much further we could polish it - nothing about this process is automated," said Garbut. "..This is the team going in by hand and looking at every aspect of the game and seeing how we could apply additional memory or additional processing power."
The Team at Rockstar have brought immersive gaming experience to a whole new level in terms of the scaling up of detail . "It's more than a quick texture up-res, it feels like the world has come into focus," Gamut said. "It runs smoother, it plays smoother, and it feels like it has really evolved into something so much more." A really good example is lighting and particle effects where the team hand-placed lighting effects in specific ways and configurations that significantly improved the realism and dynamism in the "GTA V" world. Among the list of things improved upon are the smoothening of edges such as the flora, fauna and the interactions of the elements all the way from how they grow- with a lot of attention to how it naturally feels alive and vital.
With the processing power on new consoles and PC, Screen space ambient occlusion(SSAO) solution has been applied to further improve the quality of lighting and related effects such as shadows, volumetric fog and reflections.
With a heap of updates to lead the trail to "GTA V" releasing on Playstation 4 and Xbox One on November 18th, 2014 with the PC version to follow January 27th, 2015, get a feel of FPS mode below.
