Microsoft and 343 Industries have put out a new trailer showcasing the stunning new concept art for "Halo 4" at the PAX Prime Gaming conference.

Although the trailer is just made up of concept art, it's enough to whet the appetites of any Halo fan. 343 has decided to make the trailer as epic as possible with aesthetics and atmospherics jumping off the screen.

There's really no indication of plot but the trailer does reveal the franchise's hero, the cyborg in green, Master Chief gazing at a variety of lovely landscapes. The Covenant is back at some point, there are some explosions and no Library.

The music has been pared down to a futuristic synth sound instead of the chorus heavy score. There's really nothing spoiler-ish about the trailer only a hint of things to come. 343 Industries the team culled from staff from Bungie the original creators of the Halo series have revealed that Halo 4 will be the starting point of a new trilogy of Halo games called the Reclaimer Trilogy.

"This trilogy is a direct continuation to the events in Halo 3. It will deal with the fate of John and the fate of Cortana," Frank O'Connor, formerly of Bungie himself, told a crowd at PAX Prime, a video game expo. "You've lived with inert, static Forerunner abandoned structures. It's going to be really interesting to see a different aspect of Forerunner engineering and Forerunner architecture when it's not completely inert and dead and empty."

This sounds like the player will finally get to use the dormant, ancient tech that has been part of the game series since the beginning. 343 Industries have set a tentative release date for the fourth quarter of 2012.

For now die hard Halo fans should just watch the concept video and mark the date in their calendars.
