‘Halo 5: Guardians’ Beta Previewed And Tested As Fans Get ‘Halo: Master Chief Collection’ Freebies
In preparation for the "Halo 5: Guardians" multiplayer beta on Dec. 29, there are already a few videos and demos that have explored what fans can expect for the trial. It appears that the beta access will provide fans with two maps and some weapons, as well as an altogether new experience in the "Halo" franchise.
Polygon had a chance to witness the early version of the beta that has already gone live. According to the report, it is a much faster game that allows for different maneuvers and delivers an experience for the well-tuned weapons. For the most part, it's a different game with the way it feels, but there are some areas where you diehard fans of "Halo" will still feel like home.
Major Nelson has also given fans a sneak peek of the "Halo 5: Guardians" multiplayer beta preview, as seen in the video below. He reiterated that those who already have a copy of "Halo: The Master Chief Collection" will be able to access the beta from Dec. 29 to Jan. 18.
Other details of the beta preview include the 4v4 multiplayer gameplay and the Spectator Mode that has been hyped since the announcement of the "Halo 5: Guardians" multiplayer beta.
"Halo 5: Guardians" developer 343 Industries has also announced some freebies and other details coming with the multiplayer as a thank you to the fans. Over at the Xbox Wire, the developer announced that the team behind the title has been working nonstop for the updates and bug fixes for the title.
And given all of the issues that fans encountered with "Halo: The Master Chief Collection" and as a thank you for the continued support, 343 Industries is giving some freebies for fans who have seen through the issues as they were being fixed. So if you have been playing "Halo: The Master Chief Collection" from its launch date until now, expect the following freebies for your Xbox One account:
- 1 month of Xbox Live Gold
- Exclusive in-game nameplate
- Exclusive in-game avatar
As a teaser to fans, the developer has also hinted at upcoming map content in the future. Based on the feedback from fans, there will be two new things to look forward to for "Halo: The Master Chief Collection." It seems that patience pays with "Halo: The Master Chief Collection," because all that wait for dealing with bugs will be rewarded with something more than just fixes.
The first is the "Halo 3: ODST Campaign," which will see a 1080p resolution upgrade at 60fps. This will be a free update for those who have played since launch. Also, there will be a "Relic" multiplayer map for "Halo 2: Anniversary." This will be part of a free content update, which will include reimagined and re-mastered "Relic" fan-favourite map.
