‘Halo 5: Guardians' sports tons of new features over previous titles
343 Industries is making sure that the new Master Chief in “Halo 5: Guardians” has more reasons to keep fans hooked to their Xbox One consoles. The developer has introduced multiple features that have never been part of the “Halo” franchise until now.
The new sci-fi shooter has a dynamic game structure. Sometimes, it immerses the player into open environments with numerous enemies. It also sometimes maintains a more storytelling perspective to the game levels.
It also includes the ability to play in co-op mode with up to four players either in the footsteps of the elite forces of both Master Chief and Agent Locke. The downside to it is that, it cannot be played locally and requires the player to possess an Xbox Live Gold membership.
New gameplay mechanics have also been added, including a smart link aiming system that allows the possibility to zoom in with every weapon in their arsenal. A revamped mobility adds more realism by allowing players to slide in during combat or strike grounds to create shockwaves, as reported by GameSpot. The Requisition System on the other hand, rewards players for their gameplay performance in the multiplayer. Points obtained can be used to unlock weapons, armors, vehicles and also improve abilities.
The game takes place after the events of “Halo 4” with the mysterious force Guardians threatening the galaxy. The game switches perspectives between the two protagonists, namely the Master Chief and Spartan Agent Jameson Locke. Both of them possess their own squads, Blue Team and Fireteam Osiris. Playing through the campaign allows the user to understand both the group’s goals and missions.
It will also include new player abilities like Infinite Sprint that allows the player to dash infinitely but with shield recharge disabled. A Spartan charge, on the other hand, allows players to unleash devastating blows on the enemy, as reported by PrimaGames. A custom multiplayer map editor with 1,600 objects to customise maps will also be included with the game
The multiplayer, on the other hand, includes a new 24-player Warzone mode with each match lasting up to 30 minutes. However, It hasn’t removed the old arena style game play and still includes multiplayer modes like Breakout, Slayer, Stronghold and the classic Capture the Flag. “Halo 5: Guardians” launches on Oct. 27 as an exclusive Xbox One title.
