Fans of Halo who have been waiting for any sign of the franchise during the E3 2013 would know that there was a brie teaser and a trailer that showcased a possible new game with Xbox One.

However, at the event, it was dubbed "Halo" instead of the awaited "Halo 5," though speculations of either a reboot or just a new angle for the game have already been brought up.

In the newest report by Joystiq, it seems that the most recent interview with Don Mattrick of Xbox regarding the price point of the next-gen console had him quoted to say that the upcoming game was "Halo 5."

This comes as a reference to the many services that the Xbox One will be offering including Skype and SmartGlass, thus justifying the price tag of $499. Whether "Halo 5" was a mere slip of tongue or if indeed, the franchise continuation will be heading next to the Xbox One was not clarified.

But if Microsoft VP Phil Spencer's interview with OXM was to be any indication, the Halo Xbox One game may be another franchise altogether, but Halo 5 is something to be expected.

"We haven't named the game [Halo 5] yet. It was just purely 'Halo is coming' and we wanted to give it a date," said Spencer. "This was just more about confirming that 343 are making a real Halo game, a first person shooter, coming out in 2014."

Two games don't require PS Plus

Perhaps the only gripe that some players still have about Sony's PS4 is the PS Plus fee of $5 every month, to allow you to connect to multiplayer online for most games.

However, Just Push Start reports that there are now two multiplayer games that you can enjoy without a PS Plus subscription. These are the newly announced free-to-play MMOs revealed at the E3 2013, DC Universe Online and PlanetSide 2.

This supports what Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida said at the conference, "As far as free-to-play games are concerned, it's a publisher's decision whether they put it inside or outside of the PlayStation Plus requirements."

This is another bit of good news for those who are aiming for a PS4 this holiday season. Because, the report also suggests that, if the publishers follow suit with DC Universe Online and PlanetSide 2, then Blacklight: Retribution and Warframe, both free-to-play games, will come to the PS4 and be playable even without the PS Plus subscription.

Titanfall won't allow cross-platform play

Players may have to take their pick on which platform to play on for Respawn Entertainment's upcoming shooter game, as it was reported that a cross-platform play may not be in the works.

"I don't think it's locked yet, but to me, I'd like t keep it segregated so there's no advantage or disadvantage," said Vince Zampella, co-founder of Respawn Entertainment, to VG 24/7.

This decision was supposedly based on their desire to have a level playing field for the platforms.

Expect Titanfall to be released next year springtime, an exclusive to the Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles, as well as the PC.
