High Hopes for Apple to Release iWatch at WWDC

With World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2014 scheduled on June 2, many are hoping that Apple will unveil the much-anticipated wearable technology iWatch during the event.

Apple Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tim Cook promised that the company will launch interesting new product categories this year. The Guardian Liberty Voice mentioned that over 100 software and hardware developers have been brought to the company to help develop the product.

Apple had placed an announcement on its company website that it will be live streaming WWDC keynote starting at 10 A.M. P.D.T. The company announcement reads: "Watch streaming video from this special event and learn more about our exciting announcements."

There is no official statement yet how iWatch will really look like but rumours have already sent the web in frenzy over the last few days that the wearable technology will have a round face as opposed to the previously rumoured curved or square screen.

According to an article from Daily Mail, New York tech analyst Brian Blair of Rosenblatt Securities revealed that the round face design of iWatch resembles the Moto 360 design. It will also have the looks of a traditional watch and will come in male and female versions.

Words have previously spread over the internet that this wearable technology will have full iOS and many have high hopes that it will come with iOS 8 which is also expected to be unveiled at the WWDC.

Mac Rumors mentioned that KGI securities analyst Ming Chi Kuo expected the iWatch to be fully integrated with other Apple smart products like iPhone, iPad, and Mac. It will also reportedly have the flexible AMOLED display from LG and will come in a 1.3-inch and a 1.5-inch display to snugly fit the various wrists sizes of users. The analyst also predicted that iWatch will come with different price points, the high end version expected to cost several thousand dollars.

The wearable gadget has been heavily rumoured to have the capability to monitor vital statistics and personal data such as heart rate, sleep quality, calories burned, or steps taken. It will also reportedly have environmental sensors to detect and monitor noise, temperature, humidity, or pressure.

Apple has remained tight lipped about the various speculations surrounding iWatch. But with WWDC 2014 just a few more days to go, high hopes and surprises are expected to unfold during the event.
