Hillary Clinton thinks it’s time to share more of her life
Sixty seventh United States Secretary of State and failed presidential candidate Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton thinks it is time to share a glimpse of her life with a collection of essays and quotations she utilised to stand the test of time. These include her political race against now US President Donald Trump, dealing with the media and her husband’s (former US President Bill Clinton) high-profile sexual controversies.
A series of essays will be compiled in a book which currently does not have a title yet. It will be published and distributed worldwide this year. The book will also include Clinton’s thoughts on the administration of Trump and the new president himself as confirmed by publisher Simon & Schuster.
In a statement, Clinton has shared that the quotes that will be written in her upcoming book have helped her “celebrate the good times, laugh at the absurd times, persevere during the hard times and deepen [her] appreciation of all life has to offer.” S&S president and chief executive Carolyn Reidy is delighted that the former First Lady of the United States thinks it is the right time to share the words that define the experiences of her life.
“We are delighted that Secretary Clinton finally thinks the time is right to share the words and thoughts that nourished and enriched her, and defined the experiences of her extraordinary life,” Reidy said. The monetary amount that Clinton has received from the publishing company was not disclosed.
Last year’s US presidential campaign has been a contentious battle for Clinton, with claims that she utilised her personal email to send classified information and questions about the Clinton Foundation, a charity being run by her and her family. There are also reports that her loss in the elections was caused by Russian interference.
Clinton has been US media’s apple of the eye since her husband’s years at the White House. There were allegations that the former US president had extramarital affairs with a White House intern named Monica Lewinsky.
In 1992, American model and actress Gennifer Flowers released recorded conversations over the phone as proof that she and Bill had an affair. He has eventually admitted that he had “sexual relations” with Flowers.
The Guardian shared that the upcoming book featuring Clinton’s quotes and sayings will appear concurrently with a picture-book version of her 1996 bestseller, “It Takes a Village.” Official release date of the book in Australia is expected to be announced soon.
