Hoax Alert: Brad Pitt’s Love Letter To Angelina Jolie Goes Viral
A love letter that Brad Pitt apparently wrote for his “wife” Angelina Jolie is circulating online once again, and it’s making romantics around the world sigh. But while the letter has the makings of a swoon-worthy, happily-ever-after story, it has really nothing to do with the A-lister couple that is Brangelina.
The letter was first attributed, albeit falsely, to Brad in June 2013 after Angelina revealed that she had undergone preventative double mastectomy earlier in February. According to some sites, it has been around as early as 2012, though Brad’s name and the wife’s career were not included in the letter yet.
Recently, though, it appears that after it was shared briefly online, it has recently made a comeback, with more people sharing the letter.
It’s easy to see why people got fooled into believing the love letter was written by the 50-year-old Golden Globe Award-winning actor. At the time it circulated online, Angelina just revealed her health battle. She has also lost a lot of weight, but that’s nothing new (her weight has been the subject of tabloid fascination for years already).
Moreover, the note talks about children, about the wife being the “most beautiful woman on the earth,” the wife’s refusal to shoot movies, and the couple’s deteriorating relationship, which some people still don’t believe would last at all.
But Brad did not write the letter. He isn’t even married to the Oscar-winning star yet, so he didn’t even need a divorce, as opposed to what he purportedly wrote.
His rep also confirmed to Snopes.com that the actor has nothing to do with it.
Linguists also suggested that it appeared to be written by someone who is not a native English speaker. The note looks as if it was imperfectly translated from one language to English.
Meanwhile, Brangelina and their six children are still playing tourists in Australia for the holidays. Mum Angie is filming her second directorial project “Unbroken” in Sydney, which means the Jolie-Pitts are all Down Under to enjoy the country’s best offerings.
The love letter: (all sic)
“My wife got sick. She was constantly nervous because of problems at work, personal life, her failures and problems with children. She has lost 30 pounds and weighted about 90 pounds in her 35 years. She got very skinny, and was constantly crying. She was not a happy woman. She had suffered from continuing headaches, heart pain and jammed nerves in her back and ribs. She did not sleep well, failing asleep only in the morning and got tired very quickly during the day.
“Our relationship was on the verge of break up. Her beauty was leaving her somewhere, she had bags under her eyes, she was poking her head, and stopped taking care of herself. She refused to shoot the films and rejected any role. I lost hope and thought that we’ll get divorced soon.
“But then I decided to act on it. After all I’ve got the most beautiful woman on the earth. She is the ideal of more than half of men and women on earth, and I was the one allowed to fall asleep next to her and to hug her shoulders. I began to pepper her with flowers, kisses and complements. I surprised her and pleased every minute. I gave her lots of gifts and lived just for her. I spoke in public only about her. I incorporated all themes in her direction. I praised her in front of her and our mutual friends.
“You won’t believe, but she has blossomed. She became even better than before. She gained weight, was no longer nervous and she loved me even more than ever. I had no clue that she CAN love that much.
“And then I realized one thing: ‘The woman is the reflection of her man’ – Brad Pitt”
