‘Hollyoaks’ alum Jorgie Porter says she’s open to return to show but only as ‘Nana McQueen’
English actress and model Jorgie Porter is not closing her doors on the long-running British soap “Hollyoaks,” where she played Theresa McQueen for eight years.
The 28-year-old blond beauty left her role last year, after being on Channel 4’s TV program for eight years. She said she welcomes the idea of returning to “Hollyoaks,” but not in the near future. In fact, her big comeback might not happen until several years after, since she revealed her character may be that of a grandmother.
“Maybe like Nana McQueen one day, 80 years old. Maybe even a reunion in 10 years with husbands and 20 kids,” she told Bang Showbiz, according to a report by The List. She admitted that she misses her on-screen family, as well as doing the show itself. “I do miss it because I miss being on set 24/7 with loads of people I love,” she said. “I love the crew and having a little family, sort of having to do stuff, and drama. The comedy aspect and the high-intense drama.”
However, she’s also reminded why she needed to leave her beloved soap. “Yeah, I do miss it but I just think you've got to remember that everything comes to an end and things move on,” she added. Porter revealed that she said goodbye to her character because she needed a break from it all.
“I just thought I don't know what more to sort of do there really,” she confessed. “I just thought, I would love a little break from working 24/7. It was intense, for eight years. I thought I needed a time out to be a bit more normal. Family and friends sort of thing.”
“Hollyoaks,” which follows the lives of a group of suburban college kids, . The soap airs weeknights at 6:30 p.m. on Channel 4 with first look screenings at 7 p.m. on E4.
