Despite the insults he unleashed on the 2011 Golden Globes, Ricky Gervais will host next year's event. This is the third time that Ricky Gervais will host the Golden Globes.

It is confirmed that the British comedian/host and the creator of both "The Office" and "Extras," is back in the Golden Globes. Variety reported that the British actor won majority of votes from members of Hollywood Foreign Press Association arguing or whether or not to bring him back to host the show.

It seems that the Golden Globes is vying for higher ratings and starting a controversy is their way of attracting more viewers - by bringing more insults and star-baiting sarcasm from Gervais.

After last year's awards, HFPA President Philip Berk seemed less than pleased with his host. "He definitely crossed the line. And some of the things were totally unacceptable," he said.

"But that's Ricky... I had absolutely no idea what Ricky was going to say so anything I heard was heard was the same time you heard it. When you hire Ricky Gervais, you expect the unexpected," the president added.

Ricky Gervais is known for his sarcasm and wit. He is relentless as he takes on actors such as Robert Downey Jr., John Travolta, Tom Cruise, and Charlie Sheen.

Ricky Gervais tweeted "It's gonna be biblical," referring to next year's event.

Gervais joked that he was offered to host the Oscars after Eddie Murphy backed out from the task, and before the Academy Awards announced that Billy Crystal will host the show. He also tweeted, "Just told Billy Crystal he'd better not use any of my holocaust or pedophile material at The Oscars. He agreed (true)."

Many believed that the Golden Globes is a stepping stone for the Oscars. Who would be the winners and what's in store for the Golden Globes, now that Ricky Gervais' uproar of insults will again be witnessed in the event in January 2012.
