‘Home and Away’ spoilers for July 5: Josh flees after his sentencing; Nate gets drugged by someone related to the Morgans

Another series of heart-stopping events hound Summer Bay on the upcoming episode of “Home and Away.” On Tuesday, Josh Barrett (Jackson Gallagher) learns about his fate, but his brother is determined to change his future. Andy Barrett (Tai Hara) acts on his plans to help Josh escape right after his sentencing.

Meanwhile, Tori Morgan’s (Penny McNamee) feelings for Dr Nate Cooper (Kyle Pryor) grow deeper, but fans wonder whether involving him into her chaotic life is a good idea. In the upcoming run, he gets his first taste of how dangerous it could be to be linked to the Morgan family. Back to the Bay reports that Tori finds herself falling for Nate. He, on the other hand, gets in serious danger after being drugged by Spike.

Seven Network posted a sneak peek of the upcoming episode. In the trailer, Matt wonders why Andy was acting weird, but Andy assured him nothing weird is going on. However, it seems that something is going on – Andy is seen talking to a guy and confirming that everything’s proceeding according to plan. The same guy appears in another scene, this time as a police officer who transports Josh from prison to court.

At the courtroom, Josh hears his sentence – he’s getting 25 years of imprisonment. On the next scene, Josh is seen running away and hopping on to a vehicle, while Evie screams his name. Meanwhile at the hospital, an intruder breaks into Nate’s office and injects him something, making him lose consciousness.

“Home and Away” recap

On Monday, VJ moved in with Billie, who told Phoebe that he’ll only be staying there for a few days until he sorts things out with his mum. When Billie told Phoebe that VJ’s actually staying, Phoebe said okay but he has to pull on weight. Meanwhile, Leah was livid with VJ’s decision, but Alf assured her that her son would come to his senses soon. Zac went over to Phoebe’s and tried to change VJ’s mind, but it seemed VJ was already feeling at home there. Zac reported that VJ cooked dinner for the girls, perhaps in an attempt to win them over. Leah turned emotional with the thought that her son could leave her for good.

Billie, on the other hand, was starting to doubt whether living with VJ is a good idea. She shared her apprehensions with VJ: that it only happened because he had a fight with Leah, they’ve only been together for a couple of months and she’s concerned that it might not work. She’s worried that it might ruin things between them. However, VJ assured her that he loves her and it’s enough to make things work out. Later, Billie went to visit Leah and apologised for VJ’s action. Billie admitted that she believes they’re not ready to live together yet. She assured Leah that he’ll come home – he just needs more time to realise what’s right.

Matt went to see Josh in jail before his sentencing. Matt tried to convince Josh into letting Evie see him, but Josh said seeing her would just make things harder for the both of them. Matt refused to back down and said Josh should give her just one chance. Josh relented and agreed to let Evie visit him in prison. The two had an emotional talk and reminisced about their good times. They shared one last kiss.

Andy was ironing out his plans and it looked like it’s all systems go. However, his accomplice urged him to done last job – steal a car, fix it and in return, Andy would get the cash he needed to put his plans into action. Despite his misgivings, Andy did it and his accomplice lived to his promise. Later, Andy managed to convince Kat to let him see Josh and let them talk alone. Andy told Josh to do exactly what he’s about to tell him.
