Horse Bites Penis of Newly Married 19-Year-Old Filipino (VIDEO)
In journalism class, the sentence "Dog bites man" is considered an ordinary event not worthy of newspaper space. But when the nouns are switched and it becomes "Man bites dog," then it becomes newsworthy.
What if the incident reads: "Horse bites man's penis?" That certainly is a story worth a headline in Huffington Post and other media that features unique events. That event actually happened in the Philippines on Tuesday.
ABS-CBN reports that a 19-year-old resident of Malita, Davao de Sur, was rushed to the Southern Philippines Medical Center after a horse he was attending to bit his penis.
The victim, who was just married four months ago, recounted he was surprised by what the horse did, which the man's father-in-law theorised could have been possessed by evil spirits.
However, Assistant City Veterinarian Dr Esther Charri Rayos said the animal could have been provoked. Doctors are still studying if the victim's genitals could still be saved.
The incident, when shared in social media, unfortunately led to jokes such as maybe the horse is gay and had a same-sex attraction to the caretaker, or questions arose why was the man's genitals bitten when the victim was supposed to be clothed?
Was he jacking off or was he attempting to have sex with the animal are some of the scenarios people may entertain in view of recent reports of men being caught having sex with animals such as goats and dogs.
At least he could blame the beast for his damaged private parts, while a 37-year-old man from Rosales, Pangasinan, has only himself to blame for gunshot wound on his penis.
Police said Geronimo Narciso was allegedly drunk on Aug 16, and he fired a homemade .22 caliber gun twice in the air. When restrained by his drinking companions, Geronimo tucked the gun in his pants and accidentally pulled the trigger.
