LG Nexus 4 with LTE Connectivity

Nexus 4 is one of the best smartphone recognised and was sold in affordable price. Unfortunately, its lack of LTE feature disappointed many owners in the United States. However, a Reddit user named Yarzospatflute found a way to activate T-Mobile Nexus 4 LTE using a few tweaks on the device.

Requirements

1. You need to root your LG Nexus 4 to enable LTE hacking tool. Click here for instructions on both Android 4.2.2 and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean firmware.

2. Download the files required to allow Nexus 4 to be identified as an LTE support device. Click here for the files needed.

Warning: Flashing these files may damage your Nexus 4. We are not liable for any errors, damages or bricking which may occur on your smartphone. Make yourself knowledgeable with the advance procedure used to prevent damaging the device. Do this at your own risk.

Instructions to Enable LTE Service

1. You need to flash the files on your Nexus 4 which can be done either via custom recovery or via fastboot. The instructions are provided to you inside the files you have downloaded earlier.

2. After flashing the files, go to "Settings > More > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names."

3. Enter the following network configurations (include dash and slash symbols):

APN: fast.t-mobile.com

MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc

MCC: 3109

MNC: 260

APN type: default, supl, mms

APN protocol: IPv4/IPv6

4. Once you have configured the network, go the dial pad and enter *--4636--*.

5. Access the "Phone Information > Select Preferred Network Type > LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL)."

6. Launch the browser to start surfing the Internet using 4G LTE connection.

Be reminded that you need to be located in an area with T-Mobile LTE coverage for it to work and beware of intense battery drain on your device. Since Nexus 4 does not support LTE normally, the speed you are experience is lower than the usual LTE speed rate.
