Apple has released a price-cut iPhone 5c in March offering a budget iPhone to those who are fine with lesser internal storage for a reduced price.

iPhone 5c comes in 124.4 mm x 59.2 mm x 8.9 mm and weighs 132 grams. This 4-inch device has 326 ppi and 640 x 1136 resolution, A6 processor, 8 MP rear-facing camera, single LED flash, 1.2 MP front-facing camera, battery that provides 10 hours talk time and runs the most recent iOS 7.

In the UK, an 8 GB iPhone 5c costs £429 from Apple's online store although there might be discount offerings from carriers later, giving you but only £40 savings compared to 16 GB 5c. But the 8 GB's price is somewhat higher than many high-end Android phones. Most of which have 16 GB or more and other advantages. Check out the list below from Android Central.

Google Nexus 5 (£299 - 16 GB, £339 - 32 GB)

Nexus 5 remains of great value with its 5-inch display, "pure" KitKat Android 4.4 and Google speedy updates. Its weak on battery life though and has unsteady 8 MP camera. But this flagship-class device is available for the competition.

HTC One (£364.99)

HTC's previous flagship M7 is still of decent value at £365 SIM-free. It boasts of a higher resolution display and larger screen, 32 GB and metal-backed build.

LG G2 (£299 - 16 GB, £339.99 - 32 GB)

The flagship of LG Electronics has been discounted in the UK. But its SIM-free pricing on Amazon UK is the same with its cousin Nexus 5. Both present great value from £299 to £

340 price range. G2 has higher resolution and larger screen than iPhone 5c at 5.2 inches and 1080p. LG G2's camera is also a topnotch with 13 MP. Its internal storage is four times that of 8 GB iPhone 5c.

Motorola Moto X (£306)

Moto X provides unique features such as touchless control activating the phone even from sleep mode, pulses notifications on screen even when turned off, highly ergonomic design and Android 4.4 KitKat.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (£400-£459)

Check on Amazon and look for Galaxy Note 3 which offers a price tag lower than 8 GB iPhone 5c's £429. Note 3 still remains a favorite of many Android fans with its titanic 5.7-inch display of 1080p, 32 GB storage plus stylus-based functionality, courtesy of Samsung S Pen.

Samsung Galaxy S4 (£318)

Samsung's immediate past flagship comes with a 1080p, 5-inch display and 13 MP camera and with a successor Galaxy S5 recently released to the global market at £579. It is still fine with those who want to save some cash almost half the amount of GS5.

Sony Xperia Z1 and Z1 Compact (£399.99 and £386.99)

Sony Xperia Z1 offers a double storage of 8 GB iPhone 5c and a larger screen for less cash. Also, smaller Xperia Z1 Compact comes more interesting with its internals akin to Z1, but more pocketable and at £386.99 price tag.
