Android tablets and smartphones have a default security system. Part of this security system is the lock screen feature. This is one of the very first features you come across before switching on your device. While the most popular method of locking phones is slide-to-unlock, there are more secure methods like pattern unlock that users can opt to choose. Several users love the locking feature as it protects them from unwanted intrusion from outsiders. On the contrary, there are some who find it an unwelcome feature as they prefer keeping their mobile unlocked.

Disabling the lock screen on Galaxy Note 3 or the S4 is fairly easy. While there are certain manufacturers who change the interface to an extent, most of them keep the general setting exactly the way it is for most smartphones.

First, locate the Menu button on your mobile. It is the touch button situated to Home's left part for Note 3 and the S4. The Home button is placed in the middle of your mobile device. When you tap Menu, you can go to the system settings. This can, however, be done by tapping the "gear" button found in the notification bar, which can, in turn, be accessed when you pull down the bar. An identical button can be found on the app tray as well.

The process goes like this. Go to Menu > System Settings > My Device > Lock Screen > Screen Lock. If you wish to disable to lock screen option, you have to choose the "None" option which is the last one in the list of options.

Tablets and smartphones are designed in such a way that almost every aspect of these devices can be customised according to a user's preference. The security, or the lack of it, is also such a decision that users have to make for themselves. The decision to deactivate the lock screen feature in your device is entirely up to your use and preferences.
