Users that updated to iOS 8 encountered some issues, and Apple recently released the iOS 8.0.1 to fix the bugs. However, instead of fixing and improving the new OS, a lot of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Pus users claims that after installing the update, cellular service and touch ID issues were found.

The cellular service issues are reported by users having multiple networks, and these issues were not solved by typical troubleshooting, like restarting and by resetting the network settings. The touch ID feature is also having some issues. Supposedly, this feature can be used to unlock the iPhone by just fingerprint-scanning, but it got disabled after users installed the iOS 8.0.1 update. When users tried to change the setting, a "failed" message pops up, according to MacRumors.

Apple is reported to be aware of the issue and has already pulled the update, but here is a workaround that can be done by users' that were able to install the iOS 8.0.1 update. There is no need to delete data and to start from scratch,

Here are some instructions to help fix the issue coming from iMore.

Users can go to www.ipswdownloader.com to download a copy of iOS 8. Select the device and model. Using the iPhone, go to Settings, then go to iCloud and find my iPhone and turn off the service. The Apple ID and password will be required for this step. User will need to plug the iPhone to a PC or to a Mac, launch iTunes, then click the iPhone button. Click the Check for Update button while pressing the control key on the PC or Mac keyboard. Now, users can pick the firmware that was previously used, then click OK.

The iPhone will now start to download the iOS 8 as an upgrade, but there will be no changes in the data and settings. To make sure that everything is done correctly, users can go to the About Menu on the iPhone if the iPhone is currently running on iOS 8.

Apple is now looking into the issues and more likely to release an update to fix the bugs. In the meantime, users can try this workaround to make the iPhone useful again.
