The list of "How I Met Your Mother" Season 9 guest stars has grown longer with Broadway star Lin-Manuel Miranda getting cast for the successful CBS sitcom. The TV series' co-creators and executive producers Carter Bays and Craig Thomas revealed the casting news via social networking site Twitter.

"Here's another bit of #HIMYM casting propaganda: A guest appearance by out good friend @Lin_Manuel Miranda!" Mr Bays posted on his Twitter account @CarterBays while Craig Thomas tweet post at Twitter account @HimymCraig read: "So excited to have @Lin_Manuel joining us on #HIMYM-meant to be!" The 33-year-old actor confirmed the casting news with a simple tweet to Mr Bays and Mr Thomas that says "You guys. YOU GUYS!"

Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote and starred in the Broadway production titled "In the Heights" and his hard work has earned him the Tony Award for "Best Original Score" as the composer and lyricist. Additionally, Mr Miranda has appeared as well in the short-lived NBC TV drama series called "Do No Harm."

The CarterMatt.com report reveals that Lin-Manuel Miranda will join HIMYM cast members that also had theater background like Broadway star Neil Patrick Harris who portrays Barney Stinson and new cast member Cristin Milioti as "The Mother" who hailed from Broadway's "Once." However, it has not yet been revealed what role Mr Miranda will portray in "How I Met Your Mother" Season 9.

The Enstars report claim that Lin-Manuel Miranda will appear for at least one HIMYM Season 9 episode. Other confirmed HIMYM guest stars for the final season include actor Wayne Brady as Barney Stinson's brother, James, actress Sherri Shepherd as Daphne in the season premiere episodes, the "Karate Kid" star William Zabka and "Breaking Bad" actor Bryan Cranston.

It has been previously announced that Mr Cranston will appear once again in HIMYM Season reprising his role of Hammon Druthers, Ted Mosby's horrible boss. The ninth and final season of "How I Met Your Mother" airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on the CBS network.
