How Manually Update Your Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean
Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 can now be upgraded to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, using manual installation. The firmware features all Android 4.3 Jelly Bean goodies such as Bluetooth Low Energy and a bloatware free system.
CyanogenMod 10.2 on Samsung Galaxy S I9000
Recognised developer - OP at XDA developers, pawitp, posted the nightly build of CyanogenMod 10.2 custom ROM, running the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean version for the Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000. CyanogenMod 10.2 features the following:

Requirements:
- Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000. Do not flash this firmware to any other smartphone or suffer unforeseen consequences.
- Root the Samsung Galaxy S and install a ClockworkMod custom recovery on the device.
- Create a backup of all your personal information, settings and data files on your device. Do not use the Samsung Kies software as this is a custom firmware. Manually back up your handset.
- Make sure that the battery level is at least 50 per cent to avoid power interruption during the installation.
- Enable USB debugging mode. Go to "Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging mode."
- Install the necessary USB drivers for your smartphone on the computer.
- Download the CyanogenMod 10.2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and the Google Apps package.
Flashing Instructions:
1. Connect your Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 to your computer using a USB cable and mount the SD card.
2. Copy both the CyanogenMod 10.2 firmware and the Google Apps package you have downloaded earlier then paste the files on the SD card of the Galaxy S. Do not extract any of them.
3. Disconnect your smartphone from the computer and switch it off.
4. Reboot into recovery mode by pressing and holding Volume Up, Home and Power keys altogether till the Samsung logo appears.
5. Inside the recovery mode, create a Nandroid backup of the current ROM. Select "backup and restore > backup." The saved ROM is stored on the SD which can be restored anytime.
6. Now perform a full wipe on your device. Select "wipe data/factory reset" and "wipe cache partition." Then go to "advanced > wipe Dalvik cache."
7. After the full wipe, install the CyanogenMod 10.2 custom ROM by selecting "install zip from SD card > choose zip from SD card > search the CM 10.2 firmware > confirm installation." Apply the same with Google Apps package.
8. Once the installation has been completed, go back to the main menu and select "reboot system now."
9. The smartphone will reboot and may take up to five minutes to reach the home screen.
Congratulations! Your Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 is now running the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean thanks to CyanogenMod 10.2 firmware.
