Samsung Galaxy Ace 1 S5830 is sadly not qualified to get official Android 4.3 or Android 4.4 KitKat update but owners can still make it happen and upgrade it to Android 4.4.2 KitKat instead by simply flashing the firmware manually.

CM 11 Welcomes Galaxy Ace I

Among supported devices by CyanogenMod 11 is Samsung Galaxy Ace 1 S5830 and it allow owners to customise the UI, control the CPU performance and ultimately enjoy bloatware free system.

Requirements

1. This custom ROM is compatible with Samsung Galaxy Ace 1 S5830 only. Flashing this to other variant may cause unforeseen consequences.

2. Create a manual backup of all data files stored on the smartphone.

3. Battery level should be at least 50 per cent.

4. Download and install necessary USB drivers on your computer for Galaxy Ace 1.

5. Root and install ClockworkMod recovery on the smartphone.

6. Enabled USB debugging mode. Go to Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging.

7. Download the CyanogenMod 11 Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Google Apps for Galaxy Ace 1 to your computer.

Flashing Instructions

1. Connect your Galaxy Ace 1 S5830 to the computer using a USB cable.

2. Copy and paste the CM11 package to the microSD card of the phone but don't extract the zip files.

3. Switch off the smartphone then reboot into recovery mode by pressing and holding volume up, home and power keys at the same time till Samsung logo appears.

4. Inside the recovery mode, create a nAndroid backup of the current ROM by selecting "backup and restore > backup." You can restore the saved ROM anytime using this same method.

5. Now perform a full wipe by selecting "wipe data/factory reset" and "wipe cache partition." Then select "advanced > wipe Dalvik cache."

6. Install the CM 11 Android 4.4.2 by selecting "install zip from SD card > choose zip from SD card > search for the zip file > confirm installation."

7. After the installation, go back to the main menu then select "reboot system now."

8. You need to wait for at least five minutes till the device reaches the home screen.
