XDA Developers published a guide on how to root LG G3 device. Rooting is useful for people who want to install custom ROMs on their units. The guide caters t both Verizon and AT&T subscribers. Users can change the settings of their devices and install apps that are root-only based.

The following guide will walk users through on how the rooting process should be done. It is important to note that rooting a device may remove the warranty.

1. Download and save the IORoot shell script from the web page. It is also necessary to download the LG G3 driver.

2. USB Debugging should be enabled on the device. This can be done through the Developers Option menu of the G3.

3. Connect the LG G3 device to the computer using USB. Make sure all important and necessary drivers are installed.

4. Open and run ADB Devices on the computer. Switch the phone to recovery mode. This will help reveal options to reboot the system conveniently. This is also useful for installing the USB updates, ABD and the cache. Under ADB, select Apply Update then confirm with the power button.

5. There will be a message prompt requesting the user to send the file through the ADB sideload. Under the ADB Devices window, input the following: "adb sideload [FILENAME].zip." Confirm with Enter.

6. Wait for the file for complete loading. The phone will restart to be followed by SuuperSU installation. Open the program. Access Root Explore and agree to the super user request.
