CyanogenMod 11 custom ROM running Android 4.4.2 KitKat now supports Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus GT-I9105 and GT-I9105P. It features optimised system for faster performance and useful apps for tweaking and customisation purposes.

Galaxy S2 Plus Supported by CM 11

AOSP custom ROM CyanogenMod 11 supports Galaxy S2 Plus with Android 4.4.2 KitKat build. However, the build is still under development and contain known issues. But owners can still use the device in daily tasks such as calling, SMS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, camera, audio and video playback.

Known Bugs

1. Vibration requires initialisation after boot

2. Screen recording does not work yet

3. FM radio may not support stations

4. Stock browser does not use hardware acceleration

Requirements

1. The custom ROM is compatible for Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus GT-I9105 and GT-I9105P.

2. Manually backup all stored data such as files, APN settings and others.

3. Make sure that the battery level is at least 50 per cent.

4. Download and install necessary USB drivers on your computer for Galaxy S2 Plus model.

5. Root and install a custom recovery such as ClockworkMod recovery on the smartphone.

6. Enabled USB debugging mode. Go to Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging.

7. Download the CM 11 appropriate for your model and Google Apps for Galaxy Ace to your computer.

Flashing Instructions

1. Connect your Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus smartphone to the computer using a USB cable.

2. Transfer the CM 11 designed for your Galaxy S2 Plus model and the Google Apps package to the microSD card of the smartphone without extracting them.

3. Turn off the device then reboot into recovery mode by pressing and holding volume up, home and power keys at the same time.

4. Inside the recovery mode, you must create a nAndroid backup of the current ROM by selecting "backup and restore > backup." In case you don't like the ROM and wanted to switch back, you can restore the saved ROM anytime.

5. Now perform a full wipe by selecting "wipe data/factory reset" and "wipe cache partition" then select "advanced > wipe Dalvik cache."

6. Flash the CM 11 Android 4.4.2 by selecting "install zip from SD card > choose zip from SD card > choose the appropriate zip file > confirm installation." Apply the same with Google Apps.

7. After the installation, go back to the main menu then select "reboot system now."

8. You need to wait for at least five minutes till the device reaches the home screen.
