Did you know that you can control and access several PS4 and Xbox One feautures from your tablet or smartphone? It's easy to set up and here's a list of what you need to know. The mobile revolution has dramatically changed the way we use media, share and play games.

Sony and Microsoft have both fine-tuned their mobile apps to allow gamers access their various PlayStation 4 and Xbox One features from their tablets and smartphones. If you have an Xbox 360, then you must be familiar with Microsoft's SmartGlass app that let gamers launch games and apps, navigate the user interface and access social features such as friends, messages and achievements.

The Xbox One was designed with SmartGlass that's why the Xbox One SmartGlass app, apart from the Xbox 360 app, is more stable and faster than previous versions. It is free for Android, iOS, Windows Phone, Windows 8 and RT devices. The app is compatible with Windows Phone devices running 7.5 version or higher, Android tablets and smartphones running Android 4.0 or higher and iPhone 3GS, fourth-gen iPod Touch and all iPad models.

Xbox One: Sign in to your Microsoft account. There will then be four rows of tiles: Recent, Now Playing, My Pins and Featured. A gesture swipe from left to right or tapping the key with three horizontal lines of the upper left hand side of the screen will open the Options menu, where you can access your Xbox Live profile, achievements, friends list, messages, pins and app settings. Click the Connect button in the SmartGlass app to display your Xbox One. If your console and mobile devices are not connected to the same network, click on "Enter IP address" and manually enter the Xbox One's IP address which can be found under "Advanced Settings."

PlayStation 4: Similar to Microsoft's SMartGlass, the PlayStation app can be used as a secondary screen while playing games and accessing the PlayStation Store, tutorials, social features and other things. It is for free in Apple's App Store and Google Play store. It is compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad running iOS 6 or later and Android tablets and smartphones running Android 4.0 or later.

Log in to your PlayStation account via the settings menu on the app's home screen. The What's New box will show updates from your friends and recent games you've played. The app gives quick access to friends list, trophies, profile and the PlayStation Store where you can buy new games. The top of the screen shows more social features such as invitations, notifications, game alerts and messages. The bottom gives access to the latest PSN news, promotions, tutorials and events. To connect to PS4, register your device via the Settings, select PlayStation App Connection Settings and click Add Device.
