HP Developing Three New Android Tablet For the Budget Segment
HP is reported to be working on a tablet trio that could be launched in the next few months. All the three tablets are aimed at the budget segment and come with 8 and 10 inch screen dimensions. However, what seems evident with the images of the three tablet devices which have recently been leaked online is that these have been drawn from Huawei's tablet line-up but will be carrying the HP logo instead of that of the Chinese manufacturer's. The range comprises of the HP Slate 8 Plus, HP 10 Plus, and HP Slate 10 Plus.
None of the tablets are designed to offer the best in class performance or screen resolution, which goes perfectly well with the intended pricing for the tablets, mentions MobileGooks.de that first carried the news.
Coming to individual specs, the Slate 8 Plus comes with an 8 inch 1280 x 800 pixel display and boasts of an aluminum case that adds to the rigidity. The tablet which apparently is the rebranded version of the Huawei MediaPad M1 is powered by a 1.6 Ghz Hisilicon quad core chip, a gig of RAM and 16 GB of storage. According to AndroidHeadlines, the tablet might offer 3G connectivity on top of the usual Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Next up is the Slate 10 Plus which offers a bigger 10 inch display but carries forward many of the internal make-up as its 8 inch sibling. This includes the same 1280 x 800 pixel display which turns out to be pretty dismal when spread over the bigger screen. The tablet though might feature 4G connectivity which could be its stand-out feature.
Lastly, there is the 10 Plus that's devoid of the Slate moniker but has slightly better specs to show off. This includes a 10.1 inch 1920 x 1200 pixel display and is powered at a quad core ARM Cortex A7 chip. The chip having a clock speed of just 1 Ghz as mentioned in AndroidHeadlines comes with a 2 GB RAM along 16 GB of storage. There is also a 5 and 2 megapixel camera along the rear and front of the device respectively that, according to Liliputing, runs on Android 4.4 KitKat.
