HTC, the Taiwanese manufacturer has announced its new waterproof smartphone, HTC J Butterfly (HTL23) in Japan with terms alike its flagship model HTC One (M8).

HTC J Butterfly appears with IPX5, IPX7 and IP5X concert which helps the phone to be safe from water and dust. Sony Xperia Z2 and Samsung Galaxy S5 having the similar feature of waterproof and dust proof can be the competitors of the J Butterfly.

The J Butterfly from HTC comes with a 5.0-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD Super LCD 3 display. The phone is motorised by a 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor associated with Adreno 330 GPU and has 2 GB RAM.

The smartphones run on Android 4.4.2 KitKat with HTC Sense 6.0 UI coated on top. The J Butterfly comes with a dual rear camera, which uses a 13 MP primary rear camera sensor with dual LED Flash and a 2 MP secondary rear camera helps to capture the information in depth. On the front, there is a 5 MP front-facing shooter as well.

The phone acompanies a dual front-facing stereo speakers with built-in amplifiers and is packaged with in-ear JBL receiver.

The HTC J Butterfly is sported with 32 GB of internal memory, which can be expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card. The connectivity options include 4 G LTE / WiMAX 2 + / WiFi 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n (2.4 and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX codec, NFC, GPS, GLONASS and also add a Nano SIM and IR LED.

The HTC J Butterfly is a thick body with 10 mm and weighs 156 grams. Users will get to see a Dual front-facing stereo speakers with built-in amplifiers and a 2700 mAh battery powering the smartphone.

The HTC J Butterfly will be launched in Rouge Red, Canvas White and Indigo Blue colour variants. The company has not yet announced the pricing of the device. The phone will be officially launched at HTC Conference which is supposed to be held in Tokyo on Aug 19, 2014.
