HTC Desire 310: HTC Smartphone With Dual-SIM Support Listed In China Site, Ditching Qualcomm For MediaTek Processor
HTC Desire 310 has recently appeared at HTC's European site in January. Currently, the Taiwanese smartphone gets listed in the company's Chinese site with different designs and support for dual-SIM.
Latest reports on HTC Desire 310's features and specs revealed the MediaTek processor will also power the budget device instead of the accustomed quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
According to the Android Community report, HTC decided to incorporate the 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582M processor in the HTC Desire 310.
"Aside from supporting two SIM cards in one, this smartphone ditches the usual Qualcomm for a quad-core MediaTek processor. MediaTek has been the chip maker of choice to keep costs down, but it's a bit rare for it to be used by a major smartphone manufacturer like HTC," the report said.
The Unwired View report noted the slightly different design of HTC Desire 310 on the Chinese leak compared to the leak of HTC's European site.
"This might just be a case of adapting the design to the Chinese market, or something like that, or maybe HTC didn't finalize the phone back when it got revealed by accident," the report noted.
HTC Desire 310 features and specs include the 4.5-inch screen display with 854 x 480p FWVGA resolution, 512 MB RAM, 4G internal storage capacity that can be expanded up to 32 GB through the available microSD card slot, 5MP rear-facing camera capable of 1080p video recording and 3MP front-facing camera that only supports VGA video.
The additional features and specs listed in the NDTV Gadget report are Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Micro-USB, EDGE, GPS, 3G connectivity options, 2,000 mAh battery with measurements of 131.44 mm x 68.03 mm x 11.25 mm and 140 grams weight. For the dual-SIM support, the first will be supporting the W-CDMA networks while the second will be limited only to GSM.
At present, HTC Desire 310 was announced only in China. The official site's data revealed the handset will run on the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS out-of-the-box with the BlinkFeed feature.
But the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer has not revealed the details yet on the HTC Desire 310 pricing scheme. It is still also unknown if the budget HTC smartphone will be making its way soon to the other markets worldwide.
