HTC One 2 release date is rumoured to be at the Mobile World Congress next year and will pack the latest 4.4.2 version of Kitkat OS as well as the HTC Sense 6 UI.

@LlabTooFeR tweeted that "at the moment they are testing the device on 4.4.2 and next version of Sense." When @LlabTooFeR says something about HTC, everyone listens and it is worth to pay attention, as this tipster got a proven track record in HTC leaks. For example, back in May it tipped about the HTC One's impending update to Android 4.2.

Although it is not surprising that HTC One 2 will pack the latest version of Android OS, the previous HTC One was released with one Android version behind. Thus, it is good to get some reassurance from a credible source.

Early this week, HTC One 2 was awarded its wifi certification. Getting a wifi certification means that we are one step closer in seeing the successor of the HTC One. The upcoming handset will support faster wifi connectivity as the wifi antenna is capable of switching between two bands: 5GHz and 2.4GHz. Moreover, the smartphone will support all of the standard wifi connections such as the latest 802.22ac standard, which provides users with extremely fast wireless connections at a better range.

Some of the rumoured specs and features of the new HTC flagship phone are 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor and Qualcomm Adreno 330 GPU as well as 2GB RAM for faster processing. The handset will also pack a 5-inch full HD screen display 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. HTC's upcoming smartphone is also expected to pack a higher ultrapixel camera. Moreover, the HTC One 2 will sport a metal casing just like its predecessor.

It is likely that HTC will repeat what it did early this year when it released the HTC One at the last MWC event. Then, HTC One 2 will most likely appear at the MWC 2014. However, HTC has not announced anything at the moment.
