HTC One 2, LG G3 Release Date At MWC 2014; Devices Will Copy iPhone 5S’ Sapphire Home Button?
HTC One 2 and LG G3 release date may be at Mobile World Congress event next year packing the same sapphire home button first seen in iPhone 5S.
According to a report from DigiTimes citing "industry sources," the 2014 flagship smartphones from HTC and LG will sport sapphire home buttons embedded with fingerprint scanners. This is the same set up used by Apple in iPhone 5S. Instead of pressing your finger on the home button, HTC and LG users will have to swipe your finger on the sensor.
HTC already released a smartphone with fingerprint sensor. HTC One Max boasts a fingerprint sensor but it was placed at the back of the device. Moreover, the device fell below the expectations of consumers. This is the first time that LG will make use of such technology. Fingerprint sensor has become quite popular as it adds security to the device.
According to rumors, HTC One 2 will pack a 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor and Adreno 330 GPU and 2 GB RAM for faster processing. The handset will also pack a 5-inch full HD screen display 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and a higher ultrapixel rear camera. Also, the HTC One 2 will be housed in a metal casing like its predecessor.
Meanwhile, LG G3 is set to pack a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution. LG G3 will also come with an octa-core processor. The chipset is reported to be underdevelopment in-house under the LG Odin name. The handset will also come with 16 MP camera.
Both devices are expected to see the light of the day in February next year at the MWC event to be held in Barcelona, Spain. However, both companies has not made any official announcement yet.
