Music addicts who like to listen to their favorite radio stations on their mobile have something to cheer about. Sprint is bringing an interactive radio app called as "NextRadio" exclusively to the HTC One and HTC EVO 4G LTE.

Streaming the music from the internet can considerably reduce the charge in the battery leaving the music lovers with little choice but go in for phones with a better battery or listen to music on the phone sparingly. With the new app on HTC, fans no longer need to compromise on that.

The new HTC phones come with a built in FM tuner giving the users an alternative to streaming. The NextRadio app, according to the news release by Sprint, will consume three times less battery compared to streaming the music. Streaming is currently the standard being used by other music apps in the market.

The app allows the users to browse the local radio stations in their area. Users can tune in to a frequency they know or choose a genre. Users can send feedback to the station they are listening to instantly via text or call. The app displays the details of the songs playing like name of the album et al and allows the user to share songs. The users can also buy the song right from their phone.

"Our customers already enjoy listening to a variety of music apps on their smartphones, but NextRadio makes it easier than ever to interact with the local radio stations they enjoy listening to in the car virtually anywhere," said Fared Adib, senior vice president-Product Development, Sprint.

The app is available for free and comes with the new bright red HTC One. The phone is available for purchase from all Sprint Stores and Sprint Business Sales. Customers can also buy the phone online from Sprint.com. The phones are available for purchase from Aug 16.

The company is having a special offer from Aug 16 to Aug 30. "Customers can purchase an HTC One and get a second one for free, in any of the three color options - silver, black or red" The offer comes with a rider "Offer requires qualifying data plan and new activation with 2-year agreement.." for other terms and conditions users are requested to visit the official Web site of Sprint.
