HTC One M8 has finally gotten its Android 4.4.3 update across most carriers. Similar to other Android updates in the past, the Android 4.4.3 has been carried in stages thus the early and late arrival for some. T-Mobile offered the update in the previous week with AT&T following suit. Users can expect a notification about the firmware soon. There are several ways people can update to the firmware. It is important to remember a few things before the upgrade.

Users are advised to free up their memory for the update as it takes around 660MB according to Android Origin. It is best to make sure WiFi connection is reliable to avoid problems while updating. For those who have not received the notification, they can check the update manually. To check for the software manually, users can open their phone's Settings, open About then tap on Check for Software Updates. According to HTC, it has included Android 4.4.4 functionalities in the update. While it may seem much, people should not expect a lot of changes. The device already features new location menu, transparent navigation bar as well as cloud printing among others. The improvements are more on the performance and battery life of the device.

People can also expect other security fixes that Google promised to go along with its Android 4.4.3 and Android 4.4.4 updates. HTC confirmed previously that following Google's release of the Android L, people can expect the software's rollout to HTC One M7 and HTC One M8 three months after. The Android L update made headlines after its announcement because of the new Material Design and ART setup. It promises to one of the more groundbreaking updates of Android. Analysts also believe this is the company's response to the hype building up over Apple's iOS 8. The latter part of the year will be a busy period for both Apple and Google.
