The world has finally got the opportunity to have a look at the HTC One M8. On the other hand, the iPhone 6 is still a mystery for the most. Interestingly, these two probably are the most awaited mobile phones of 2014. Let's have a comparative look of the two.

Design

The HTC One M8 kept the best features of the HTC One and innovated with the rest. What used to be angular and flat have now been made contoured, tapered, and curved. That is what made the device look much more sophisticated and sleek. The design is far more comfortable to deal with. The brushed aluminium texture, as well as the gloss clear coat, adds to the fabulous finish. According to leaked images, the iPhone 6 will have the same aluminium build just like it was before. However, nothing is confirmed yet.

Display

The iPhone 6 may have a larger display which may be as large as 4.7 inches. There could be two separate models with different sizes. The regular model may have a larger screen than the iPhone 5S. According to rumours, it will have Quantum Dot screen which will ensure colour reproduction on an enhanced level. The bezel is expected to be quite narrow. On the other hand, the HTC One M8's 5-inch display is capable of 1080p (full HD) resolution with 440 ppi. The technology used has not been disclosed by HTC yet but it promises bright colours with sharp display.

Processor

The HTC One M8 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor along with four Krait 400 cores clocked at 2.3GHz, 2GB of RAM and Adreno 330 GPU. This makes the device exceedingly fast and smooth with Android 4.4 KitKat. High quality 3-D games and several apps can be run effortlessly. Apple, however, is expected to come with "A8" chip. It will supposedly use 20 nanometre architecture.

Conclusion

The HTC One M8 has all the capabilities to come out as the top mobile device of 2014. Whether the iPhone 6 is good enough to give it a strong competition or not is something only time can tell.
