The HTC One M8 for Windows and the Nokia Lumia Icon are both sporting a 5-inch 1080p display. The design of the HTC One M8 for windows phone looks like the other HTC One M8 smartphone that runs on Android while the Nokia Lumia Icon's design is inspired by its predecessor, the Lumia 928. Its is previously known as the Lumia 929.

The HTC One M8 for Windows launched in Aug. 19 at an HTC event held in NYC and this phone is exclusively released for Verizon Wireless at the moment. This phone sports a 5-inch 1080p Full HD, Super LCD 3 display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 at 441 ppi and it runs on Windows Phone 8.1 powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 standing at 2.3GHz quad-core. The new windows Phones has 32GB of internal storage having 2GB of RAM that supports micro SD of up to 128GB. HTC One M8 for Windows has a battery capacity of 2600mAh, an HTC UltraPixel 4MP camera and a 5MP front facing camera. It also has its Boomsound, U-focus and the HTC Dot View which is integrated with Cortana. And it has a sleek aluminium design and looks like a very powerful hardware. It boasts features that includes Cortana, Live Folders, and the new third row to display more Live Tiles. It also shows off some hardware and software that has been pre-loaded on the said phone. This includes the UltraPixel camera with HTC's Dual Camera depth-sensing technology, photo editing and Blink Feed app, and the Boomsound speakers.

The Nokia Lumia Icon on the other hand launched in Feb. 20 and according to WPCentral, this is Verizon's first "phablet" Windows Phone. This device also has a 5-inch 1080p screen display, it runs on Windows Phone 8 OS and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor that stands 2.2GHz quad-core. It also has an internal storage capacity of 32GB, 2GB of RAM but it does not have expandable storage. The battery capacity of this phone is up to 2420mAh and it has a 20MP 4992 х 3744 pixels with Carl Zeiss optics and has optical image stabilization with autofocus and dual-LED flash rear and 1.2MP front cameras. The primary camera features PureView technology, dual capture, geo-tagging, face detection and panorama.

The Nokia Lumia Icon has received positive press reviews although some would have wished that the front camera would be better. The HTC One M8 for Windows being recently introduced has also received good reviews from the press so far. These phones are best for taking photos, and for professionals as well since Windows Phones offer cloud services where users can access, review, edit and share documents on its mobile phones. HTC One M8 for Windows integrated with Cortana is would be very helpful but overall, both phones are certainly worth buying.
